What’s that question on the back of your New Hampshire ballot asking about your school budget?

In this episode, Liz pulls clips from public hearings and school board meetings in Londonderry, Bedford, and ConVal to explain what Question 2 is (though you might hear it referred to as HB 1300), what it takes to pass, and what school boards say they’d have to cut.

Liz also explains fixed and variable costs using a household budget, though still doesn't love that type of comparison.

Your homework:

  1. Flip your ballot over on Nov. 3. Question 2 is (likely) on the back.
  2. Not registered? You can register at your polling place on Election Day. Check your registration at app.sos.nh.gov.
  3. Go to a hearing if your town is holding one. If not, ask your school board to.
